Maximizing young leaders' potential to impact their world through YFI's soccer initiative

Programs & Information

YFI QPR Soccer School is open to all boys and girls soccer players ages 10-17.

Young Leaders (ages 10-12)

The YFI YLC is for the player who is ready to take the next step in technical development. The week provides the opportunity to develop your first touch, passing ability, scoring ability, and to be exposed to principles of play. These sessions cater to players of all abilities and are a great way for children to learn new skills in a fun and safe environment. Each session will consist of a warm up followed by the ‘technique of the day’ where our coaches will focus on one specific technique for the children to learn. The end of every session will consist of fun small sided games.

The Tomorrow’s Leaders School is an advanced week of training for the high school player looking to fine tune needed abilities for tryouts that are at the end of summer, as well as sharpen their leadership skills. This is an opportunity to work with an elite coaching staff to help you get there! Geared for boys and girls ages 13-17, these sessions will focus predominantly on improving the techniques that are needed to play at a high level this fall, and our coaching syllabus is linked closely with the QPR Academy.

Throughout the week, campers are divided into teams and participate in the following:

  • educational games around ball skills & other fundamentals

  • small-sided competition, providing plenty of touches on the ball, as well as improving skills, adding technical speed and enhancing abilities to make quick changes

  • daily leadership challenges through individual, small-sided games and team competition

  • fitness and psychological development, necessary for success

We accept freshmen, JV, and varsity players, as well as teams with 12 or more players (offered at a discount)

Goalkeepers (ages 13-17)

Goalkeepers are a rare breed and to be the best takes dedication, hard work and special training. Our Goalkeeper School provides specific training for any level, starting with budding goalkeepers up to committed, next-level keepers. We believe goalkeepers develop best with a blend of specialized training in fundamentals through specific shooting and finishing drills, game experience, tactical exercises in our small-sided competitions and isolated training sessions.

Delivered by specialist goalkeeper coaches, these sessions will work on the techniques required for the modern-day goalkeeper:

•       Communication skills

•       Shot-stopping

•       Distribution

•       Breakaways

•       Set plays

•       Footwork

•       Positioning (angle play)

•       Ball handling

•       Diving saves

•       Defending crosses

•       Parrying the ball

•       Foot skills: the back-pass option

Our coaching staff are qualified in Goalkeeping Coaching.

Your goalkeeper coaches will provide a written evaluation of your strengths and opportunity areas at the conclusion of the week, so you can continue your development with your high school and club coaches.
